Lillooet Attractions & Activities
The Lillooet area has a vast choice of activities for the visitor to enjoy to keep you busy for several days.: For Hikers there are some spectacular trails in the area. The Lillooet Naturalist Society has published a book called “Canyon to Alpine, 25 walks”, detailing the trails and their difficulty. You can purchase the book from local stores and we have a copy for your use. For bird watchers, there have been 236 varieties seen in the area.
• Fishing and swimming in Seton or Fountain Lakes.
• Tour the historic Lillooet Museum and see native artifacts and displays of the early history of Lillooet and the gold rush.
• Tour Miyazaki House, the former residence of Dr Miyazaki one of the former prominent residents of Lillooet. It is now a Heritage site. In July and August there is a free musical concert on Wednesday evenings.
• Visit the site of the old bridge and walk across -
* Visit the spawning channels at the south end of town on the Cayoosh River. Thousands of Salmon come to spawn every August/September.
• Fish for giant sturgeon in the Fraser River – they get up to 10 ft in length. It‘s catch and release only. You can catch trout as well
• Try your luck at gold panning in the rivers.
• Walk the main street of Lillooet and see the dozens of large jade pieces mined in the area and see the cairn marking mile 0 of the Gold Rush trail. Trail.
* See Hangman’s park where it is rumoured that the famous Judge Begbie hung a dozen outlaws. The hanging tree has been cut down but it is on display in the park. The original tree is shown when it was standing.
• In the winter the Duffy Lake Highway has many wonderful snowmobile areas. In the summer, hiking, trail riding, camping, mountain biking and ATVing.
• Take a helicopter ride over the most spectacular scenery you will ever see

• Visit Gold Bridge and Bralorne, formerly one of the largest gold producing areas in BC. Beautiful rivers and lakes. You can drive all the way to Pemberton this way but there are some sections of rough gravel roads.
• Golf on Lillooet’s famous 9 hole course – one of the few in the world where you stroll amongst sheep as you play. Public are welcome.
